Many people do not know this but gmail does not recognize dots as characters within a username. This means your email address, somebody@gmail.com for example, is the same as s.o.m.e.b.o.d.y@gmail.com. Yep, go ahead and try it.
You can also append a “+” after the username, along with some text, to create multiple alias addresses that go to one mailbox. For instance, “somebody+spam@gmail.com” will deliver to “somebody@gmail.com”. Allows filtering on the mailto address.
